That's all you need. Through our partnership with Give Back Box, you can send clothes and shoes to Recycle for Change from anywhere in the United States — no collection box required, no trip across town. You buy a prepaid shipping label from Give Back Box, and it covers postage from anywhere in the country.

Fill the box, attach a label, hand it to UPS or USPS. It arrives at our Richmond facility and follows exactly the same path as everything else we collect: sorted, baled, resold, and turned into funding for volunteers doing community-based development work. The cardboard gets a second life on the way.

How it works

Four steps, about ten minutes

You'll need a box, a printer, and a shipping label bought from Give Back Box — their site shows the current price. Everything after that is on us.

Reuse a box. Any sturdy cardboard box you already have — the one your last online order arrived in is perfect.
Fill it with clean clothing, shoes, and accessories in good condition. Pack it fully; a half-empty box wastes the trip.
Buy your shipping label from Give Back Box and attach it to the outside. One label per box — they aren't transferable, and the price is shown on their site.
Drop it off at UPS or USPS, or hand it to your regular driver. That's it — we take it from there.

Everything should be clean, dry, and wearable. The clothing we collect goes on to be worn by someone — that's precisely what makes the model work.

Nothing liquid, fragile, hazardous, or electronic. No anything torn, stained, wet, or mildewed. And skip dead weight — you're paying for the postage, so fill the box with things that will actually be used.
