Find your nearest box

Ask us where to drop off.

Our boxes sit in publicly accessible spots and take donations at any hour — there's no opening time to work around. We don't publish a public map of every one, but tell us roughly where you are and we'll reply with the closest ones, usually the same working day.

Please tell us your name.
Please enter a valid email address.
Please give a 5-digit zip code.
Please tell us your city.

Boxes move as partnerships change, so asking gets you a current answer rather than an out-of-date pin on a map. If you'd rather talk it through, call (510) 932-3839 during office hours.

Our service area

Where we collect

120 cities and communities across 12 counties, from the North Bay to the Monterey coast. If your town is on this list, there's a box within reach — ask above and we'll tell you which one.

This is our collection area, not a list of box addresses. A town appearing here means we operate there; the form above tells you exactly where to go.

What to look for

Green box, our name on the front.

Every box you find through us is owned, placed, and emptied by Recycle for Change. Our name and logo are on it — no licensing deal, no third party operating under a borrowed charity name.

Some partners give theirs a character of their own, like this one. The green paint and the logo stay the same.

Bags go inside the chute rather than on the ground beside it — anything left outside is exposed to weather before we reach it.
